Royal Crown Derby "Heraldic Lion" limited edition 1640 of 2000 by Louise Adams

This Royal Crown Derby 21st Anniversary limited edition paperweight is titled "Heraldic Lion" and was designed by Louise Adams. Produced in limited numbers to celebrate the 21st anniversary in 2001 of Royal Crown Derby paperweights, it is numbered as no. 1640 of 2000 and features the 7 sided anniversary gold stopper. He is in mint condition but sadly has no COA or box. Royal Crown Derby launched its first animal paperweights in a range of five birds and a rabbit at Chatsworth House in 1981. The creatures were beautifully sculpted by Robert Jefferson of Poole pottery fame, before being hand-decorated with the firm’s signature Imari pattern and highlighted with 22 carat gold.
