This Royal Crown Derby paperweight is the "Red Fox" design and is in mint condition - there are 2 available. Please follow my shop for more Royal Crown Derby figurines and china! The Red Fox was introduced in 1990 and retired in 1993. The gold stopper is a very pale gold, this is the 2nd and 3rd red fox I have had and both have pale gold stoppers. Please see other listings for the blue Arctic Fox and Platinum Arctic Fox. Royal Crown Derby launched its first animal paperweights in a range of five birds and a rabbit at Chatsworth House in 1981. The creatures were beautifully sculpted by Robert Jefferson of Poole pottery fame, before being hand-decorated with the firm’s signature Imari pattern and highlighted with 22 carat gold.
