Two carved buildings from the 1970s Soviet Union that were produced for the Moscow Department Of Forestry and sold as souvenirs.; I believe that they were decorated using a burnt wood technique. The piece of the right is titled "Skit of Zosima," which is a scene from Dostoyevsky's The Brothers Karamazov and was made by an artist named I.P. Denisov. The piece on the left is called "The Bell Tower" but is missing the section with the bell.
The piece on the right is about 6 1/4" tall, 1 3/8" deep and 3 1/8" in width.
