Rustic Farmhouse decor Antique English Brass Bed Warmer

This late 19th Century Early Antique English Brass / Cooper with wood handle is signed “Webaware, made in England “ in the interior of the pan, Bed Warmer With Embossed woman spinning the wheel decorative lid is stunning. Please see pictures. The wood handle measures 13” and the pan diameter is 6”. A bed warmer or warming pan was a common household item in countries with cold winters, especially in Europe.(citation needed! It consisted of a metal container, usually fitted with a handle and shaped somewhat like a modern frying pan, with a solid or finely perforated lid. The pan would be filled with embers and placed under the covers of a bed, to warm it up or dry it before use. It is a really nice decorative piece, placed by the fire place or anywhere you should see it fit.
