We are offering together a set of seven antique porcelain dessert dishes or fruit nappies, manufactured by Haviland & Company in Limoges, France, circa 1900. They are decorated with a brown transfer of flower branches, with the flowers hand colored in a soft sky blue and the leaves in olive green.
This particular Haviland pattern is normally identified as "Schleiger 454b", indicating that it was given this classification by Arlene Schleiger who, in the 1920's, wrote what is still considered the definitive book on Haviland patterns.
Each of the dishes is 5 inches in diameter and about 1 1/4 inches deep. All seven of them are in excellent condition, without cracks, chips, stains, wear or other damage or defect, and are marked as shown.
We have in addition an eighth dish with a very small chip. It is not visible from the front, but can be felt on the back of the nappy's edge. Since these antique patterns can be very hard to match, we are willing to include it in the shipment at no additional charge.
This is a hard-to-find piece at a very modest price, and it's perfect to fill-in the holes in a heritage set!
Lovely!
