Gorgeous and rare purple and blue Italian Murano Sommerso faceted geometric vase. In excellent condition, no chips or cracks, only minor surface scratches (see pics). It’s stunning from every angle 😍 This is a heavy vase with thick glass (blown, not poured🤩) Height: approx 8.5 inches *Sommerso is a term for a technique used to make colored glass in all shapes and forms. The basic principle of sommerso involves submerging different colors beneath clear glass to form creations that can include vases, sculptures and beads. Sommerso glass is known for its shine, color and dramatic effect, the method used is quite unique, it features a solid color of molten glass fused with a second layer of clear glass that preserves the color of the first layer without allowing it to bleed into the second layer.
