The Sony SAL-500F80 Telephoto 500mm f/8.0 Reflex Autofocus Lens is unique in that it offers autofocus in a reflex telephoto lens. Thanks to its space-saving catadioptric design, it is compact, lightweight and ideal for field work on wilderness and nature assignments. A convenient built-in focus-hold button is located at the side of the lens barrel for quick and sure operation. This lens takes advantage of Sony's in-camera Super SteadyShot image stabilization system to reduce blur by compensating for shaky hands. Mounted on the Sony α (alpha) DSLR-A100 camera, this lens provides a 750mm focal length (35mm equivalent). Reflective optics eliminate the chromatic aberrations that can affect image quality in refractive telephoto lenses, so images are extremely sharp and clear.
