Scarf clip

A lovely little scarf clip with a fragonard pattern to the top in an oval shape, it feels like it is on a white glass stone, it is slightly off centre I can't decide if it is worn or not, it's in fairly good condition, and a fine example, it is edged in gold around the edge and has an etch to it. It is signed on the back 'Western Germany'. To date, vintage jewelry collectors don’t know for certain the name and exact location of the manufacturer of these decorations. The names of the designers, the composition of the alloys used, and much more remains a mystery. Every year the number of fans of these decorations is growing, while these decorations are becoming more difficult to find. Initially, for all the jewelry made in Germany before 1949, jewelers simply used “Germany” label. As we know, in 1949, Germany was divided into two parts, West and East Germany. Successful in the jewelry art, West German masters began signing their products “Western Germany” or “West Germany”, and sometimes “W. Germany”, or “Made in West Germany”. Measurements are generally taken in mm and is very accurate as taken with my vernier gauge and these are taken at the widest points unless otherwise stated - measures 33.50 mm x 27.08 mm at widest points. Please note that this item is vintage/pre owned and as such is pre-loved and may show signs of wear, I do clean and shine my lovely pieces a little but you may want to take that to the next level.
