This book is a vintage school reader, "Modern Stories For Modern Schools" by E. F. Kingston. It is part of the Aldine Modern English Series: Prose, which was published by J. M. Dent & Sons in 1954. The cover is beige colored cloth covered boards with green lettering and graphics on the cover and spine. It contains excerpts by O. Henry, Norman Duncan, Mary Webb, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, etc. It is in quite good condition. There is some wear, discoloration and loss to the covers and spine. Inside the front cover is a initials, numbers and a stamp. The inside pages are quite clean with the exception of one mark and a tidy note on one page. The binding is tight. Please see all the photos. This book would be ideal for homeschool, your own collection or as a story book for your favorite child.
