A vintage (1970s) set of 5 terra-cotta statues that were copied from the life size statues found in the tomb of the first Chinese emperor, Qin Shi Huang. The set includes 4 soldiers (1 kneeling) and a horse that are detailed down to their armor, saddle and facial features. It is believed that the original statues were posed for by the emperor's army, making each statue unique. When we look at one of these statues we are looking at the face of a soldier who lived over 2000 years ago. The kneeling soldier's hair bun is damaged as in the pictures.
For reference the soldier with one arm on his stomach and the other straight is 6 1/4" tall and 2" wide.
