Spiral Courting Candlesticks (2) AKA Cellar Rats

These hand-made wood and wrought-iron candlesticks with rat tail handles were purchased in 1992 from the Royal Ontario Museum. They are museum quality reproductions of early French candlesticks. Used for courting or to hold/hang in wine cellars. No more wasted wax... As the candles burn down you simple turn the handles and the shortened candle is raised. you can put 2 candles of different lengths, but you can make them appear to be the same heights.
