Mid-Century Modern Wicker Cane Bentwood Stool (Thonet style) This charming mid-century modern stool or side table on 4 spherical feet with wicker in the Viennese Braiding pattern (Wiener Geflecht) was made is in the style of Thonet's Bentwood Cane Seat Round Stool and probably hails from Austria in the 1960s. The stool is in good condition with one screw missing. No damage to the wicker top! The chair has not been restained and has maintained is dark chocolate brown color. Thonet's furniture first came to fame with his No.14 "Vienna Coffee House Chair", and this 1960s stool clearly has its pedigree in the coffee house culture of the mid-19th century.
