I like this piece not only because it is beautiful, but also because I have been able to find out quite a bit about the design. The bracelet features five silver bear paws, each set with a "snake eye" shaped turquoise of the Sleeping Beauty variety, from Arizona. In native American belief, the bear paw is usually considered a way to call for the power of the animal spirit, or as an indication of the presence of the spirit. It is a symbol that represents inner strength. The paws are created using the shadow box technique, which I understand is more difficult than most other forms of silversmithing. The cuff itself has some lovely details.
The inside end to end measures around 5-1/4 inches with an additional gap of 1 inch, which can be expanded up to about 2 inches. I would say the bracelet is best suited to a smaller wrist. Approximately 9 g. The bracelet is stamped sterling. I don't know its exact age, but research suggests it could date back to mid century. It is in very good condition, with light patina, particularly on the inside of the cuff.

Hi, what is the width of the bracelet (from tip of ‘claw’ to base of ‘claw’)? Thanks

@sophieseashells If I understand, you probably mean tip and base of the whole paw, which is about exactly 1/2 inch.

@jennifer_towell Yes, that’s it. Thank you 🙏
