Stunning, Glamourous, HEAVY .925 Sterling Silver Custom Aquamarine Ring - this ring has it all! Set in a chunky solid Sterling Silver bezel and claw setting, the centerpiece is a spectacular large Aquamarine emerald-cut stone. The incredible Aquamarine is hard to to justice to in the photos, as the gemstone shifts from a clear translucent blue, to a watery greenish blue - and a range of incredible colours in between - depending on the light. This is a serious statement piece, weighing in at a substantial 24 grams and measuring approx 23mm x 15mm at base of setting. The stone itself measures approx 21mm x 11mm, and the ring is approx size 9.5. The setting dates from around 2000 and the stone itself is older (1970s) having been reset at that time. Note that there are some light scratches to the polished silver and very slight wear to the gemstone facets - this is noticeable under magnification (see photos) and does not affect the wearability of this absolutely stunning piece. Ancient Greek and Roman sailors carried Aquamarine for protection at sea, and this gemstone was believed to be the treasure of mermaids (!). Aquamarine was used in the Middle Ages for divination and fortune-telling. Note that this listing is for the ring only, which will be shipped with care in a velvet jewel pouch :)
