Stunning Raku Jar and Cover by Ceramic Artist Shu-Chen Cheng

Raku lovers will appreciate this beautiful jar with cover made by Shu-Chen Cheng. I purchased it at an art fair in Toronto. It’s in excellent condition with the exception of the lid which has a few chips from my cleaning ladies from dusting! She is represented in several galleries. A similar design retails for $190 at Petroff Gallery. Shu-Chen is a full time ceramic artist. Originally from Taiwan and primarily self-taught, she lives and works from her home and studio in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Her award- winning raku vessels are sought after by collectors in Canada and abroad. “Working with clay has brought me much joy in life. What I value most is the challenge of self-realization through the creative process. While others may write a daily journal, my diary is written with clay. Each one of us has our own contribution on this Earth, for an Artist, it is my goal to pursue excellence through my Art.”
