This Sweet Vintage 1940s North Toronto Collegiate Institute Sterling Silver School Ring is a rare find! She must have some incredible stories to tell and it's hard to believe this little ring - and I mean little (ring is approx size 3.5) has survived the years. She's lost much of the enamel on her school crest and her silver has a buff, antique patina. I find the ring absolutely charming, and although worn, the ring is very solid and wearable.
This little ring would make a fun charm or pendant, or could also be a delightful "Kindergarten Graduation" or "first day of school" gift for a five/six year old. The ring dates from the 1940s, and bears the North Toronto CI motto in Latin: "LABOR OMNIA VINCIT" ("work conquers all") surrounding a green enameled maple leaf. The school motto was originally (and famously) written by the Roman Poet Virgil.
Note that this listing is for the ring only, which will be shipped with care in a velvet jewel pouch :)
