The Black-capped Chickadee (Poecile atricapillus) is a small songbird, about 4.75-5.75 inches long, named for its black cap and bib with white cheeks.
It is common in North America and does not migrate.
Chickadees are known for their curiosity and ability to remember where they hide food.
