Tea Cup & Plate B-953

An interesting tea cup and plate made in Japan somewhere between the 1950s and 1970s. The plate is the more stunning of the 2 with a painting of a courting couple with a tower and trees in the background, the scene is surrounded by a band of red with gold filigree then a band of gold. The cup has stripes of white and red, both with gold filigree. There is no crazing, cracks or chips. The number under the cup is B-953; I am not certain if they were originally a pair. The plate is 7" across while the cup has a mouth of 3 1/4' and stands 2 3/4" tall.
