This NWT, 2" square Krampus pin takes a huge amount of creative license from the classic album "Bad Music for Bad People" by The Cramps. But, as funny as it is, does this punk/horror clothing and accessories company Kreepsville 666 give any sort of cut to the lone surviving original band member, guitarist Poison Ivy? Now that her husband/the frontman is actually dead and not just singing about it, she could maybe use the funds. Hell, she definitely deserves them more than this random-ass company, since it's sort of a low-blow for Kreepsville to take it upon themselves to use The Cramps best known album's unmistakable likeness and make a pin out of it. I think its an especially cheap cheap-shot, given that any person who is familiar with both the band and the horned creature who hits bad children with sticks (oh, and sometimes eats them) could have easily made this correlation. The joke writes itself. I just want proper respect given to a great band whose fusion of rockabilly, punk, and horror B-movies continues to influence generations of weirdos. Weirdos such as moi.
So short story long, what do you think of all this brouhaha-ing and blahblahblah-ing? Is this pin A) a harmless parody or B) a direct rip-off and insult? My ultimate decision is - WHO CARES?! The Krampus does what he wants - and then he'll eat your naughty children for a Christmas-time snack. There is no stopping him, especially from the Afterlife.
