Vintage portfolio titled 'The Old Street Cries of London'. Francis Wheatley's "Cries of London" is a popular series of prints depicting London street vendors and their calls. The series, comprised of 8 engravings from 14 original paintings, was hugely successful in its time, with complete collections being very valuable. Wheatley's depiction of ordinary working people, particularly street vendors, is often seen as a reflection of his own experiences growing up in Covent Garden.
