Following the completion of the first transatlantic telegraph cable in 1858, Tiffany & Co. purchased the remaining cable and sold 4” sections as souvenirs. This authentic pair of Tiffany cufflinks takes inspiration from those souvenirs, crafted in sterling silver and wrapped in a ropelike cable design of solid 18k gold. Each cufflink measures approx. 23.5mm long x 22mm wide and together weigh 12 grams. Bar connection is signed TIFFANY & CO with hallmarks 925 and 750 denoting silver and 18 karat gold. EXCELLENT vintage condition with some minor wear commensurate with age.
