Public service announcement: One of the easiest ways to spot a counter feit Tiffany toggle necklace or bracelet is if there’s a 925 stamped in on the back of the toggle where you pull the chain through (see pic 1). It will NEVER be there on an authentic piece because that’s a completely illogical place to put a hallmark as it will be worn down with use. There are fa ke pieces on here that are going for as much as $500 with sellers alleging they paid $1500 retail. Don’t be fooled! If you buy something expensive on here, always have it professionally authenticated before accepting it if you’re not 100% positive it’s authentic. Happy Poshing!

kre8ivekatrin Thank you for sharing this :) I’m selling a toggle bracelet and had no idea what features a buyer should pay attention to. Thanks to your post, I just uploaded an image of the backside of my bracelet I’m selling, to offer customers more reassurance in its authenticity.

justcallmeretro The engraving will also never be miss aligned or cut off. I think we should start adding 😬 in the comments of obviously fake T&Co.

bostwick_wendy I bought a fake toggle bracelet ( knew beforehand) so I just use it as a pendant. Even though it’s a fake t&co.. is it at least .925 real silver? Also thank you for posting (:

queenbeemelgee @bostwick_wendy there’s no way to answer that question without having it tested. I think most jewellers can do that for you, but I don’t know if there would be a charge for it. Lots of fake T is also fake silver — usually silver plated copper or other metals :(

bostwick_wendy @queenbeemelgee oh really?? Thank you.. good thing I didn’t pay a lot for it. It’s still a cute pendant. I think it was $30 or something, the person was very honest about the authenticity.

queenbeemelgee @bostwick_wendy the biggest problem with fakes isn’t anything to do with intellectual property or ripping brands off. I could not care less about that. Fakes are generally made and sold by terrorist organizations as a means of raising funds for various criminal enterprises. They also couldn’t care less about work conditions, child/human slavery, using hazardous materials, or anything to do with standards of any kind.
