There are hidden tabs sewn in which you can use to "roll up" the shorts and attach to the Velcro strips under the faux side leg plackets. The belt loops are super sturdy at 1.5" wide, there is D-Ring secured to one of the loops so you can clip your water bottle or other accessories. There are two side pockets at each hip - super deep. There are two back pockets that securely close with Velcro. Cuffs are 1.5" Strong front zipper with Velcro and button closure. Could be unisex depending on what type of fit you like.
