Tod's Boots. Original Car Shoe marked 40 but better for 8.5 / 9

Original Car Shoe Leather boots maker of Tod's the Colour of the season - bordeaux / ox blood! The boots are marked as a size 40, and in Tods, that would translate to a size 10. But i am told they are a smaller fit, and so, i would recommend these for a size 8.5 / 9 women.
