Tonala Jimon Burnido Burnished Pottery Bell Signed, Floral Mexican Pottery

This signed floral and geometric bell was made in Tonala Mexico by master potters in the Jimon family using the Burnido technique. Brunido or Burnished pottery is not glazed. The decoration is created with slip, colored with various pigments, then the fired pieces are polished. Blue Grays, rose, and burnt orange colors are usually the color choices. This bell works and is approximately 3 1/2 inches across by 3 3/4 inches tall. It is in quite good condition with no cracks, chips or crazing, however there is a small worn spot on the decorative surface glaze (see the second photo) Please see all the photos.
