Historical fiction 6" x 8.5" Vintage Book Made into a movie in 1946 Two Years Before the Mast was "conceived as a protest and written to improve the lot of the common sailor". His unpolished, laconic style achieved a literary quality, however, that influenced novelist Herman Melville, according to American essayist Wright Morris. General wear, small scuffs, some separation at front of book, but generally in good shape.
