Made by putting hair from the tail and mane of a horse on greenware pottery. It is fired using a special technique. The process is hazardous and time consuming. Fine lines are created with the hair from the mane of the horse while thick lines are a result of using hair from the tail. Red horse hair, etched horse hair, and glazed white horse hair pottery have become very popular. Every pot is hand-etched by Native American crafters. The artist of this piece is Renalda Largo, who is a member of the Towering House People for the Sleeping Rock People clan of the Navajo Tribe.
