VINTAGE 1970S CBC GEM LOGO JACKET PIZZA CREW NEWS REPORTER WINDBREAKER SIZE M
This is a fabulous vintage 70s mens windbreaker jacket used by a CBC news reporter or crew member. This windbreaker earned the nickname “Pizza Crew Jacket” due to the shape and colour of the logo. The piece is made in the signature CBC colours - blue background with the logo in tones of red, orange and yellow. The logo was designed in 1974 by Burton Kramer and is known as “the gem”. It features a central “C”, which stands for Canada, exploding out in a kaleidoscopic effect in tones of red, orange and yellow against a blue background, reflecting the explosion of colour that was undergoing on television (yes, colour TV was a fairly new phenomenon). It has pointy collar and does up with a metal zipper at the front. There is a pocket at either side and the cuffs have snap closures. It is unlined.
Age: 1970s
Label: Beverini. CA 00670 on the content label - the CA 00670 identification label was assigned to Beverini (a division of Auckie Sanft) of Montreal.
