Vintage 1970s Sambo's restaurant red, white and blue set of 4 ceramic mugs. Each American themed mug has "Sambo's Has It!" printed on the side. Perfect for your mug collection or morning coffee. Stamped USA on the bottom. Please see the photos for approximate measurements. These mugs are in good vintage condition given their age. Please inspect the photos. Sambo's was an American restaurant chain, started in 1957 by Sam Battistone Sr. and Newell Bohnett in Santa Barbara, California. The Sambo's restaurant chain, which once had over 1,100 locations, had largely closed down in 1981 due to controversy and bankruptcy. Most locations were either closed outright or renamed, with the last remaining Sambo's in Santa Barbara being renamed Chad's in 2020 ending the chains existance.
