The empire waist is accentuated by a waist tie, topping the flowy maxi skirt. This dress has beautiful drapey sleeves that wrap around the shoulders and become a ruffle that runs down the side seams of the dress. The waist tie passes through the ruffles on the sides, so you don't lose any of the movement when the tie is done up.
