VINTAGE Alsace Soufflenheim French pottery by Henri Siegfried moulds from Alsace FRANCE The large mold is a young boy "HANSEL". The dimension for Hansel are 14" long and 5 1/2" at its widest by 3 1/4" at its deepest. There is a wire hook on the back to hang for decoration or after use. Alsatian pottery: terracotta or stoneware? Soufflenheim or Betschdorf? ◻️ Soufflenheim pottery is made of clay.◻️ These glazed potteries are used for cooking food: baeckeoffe terrines, kougelhopf moulds, or paschal lamb molds for example. Ceramic relics dating back 4000 years and a potter’s wheel dated 400 BC have been found in northern Alsace.
