Marked on the reverse of the forks: Simeon L. and George H. Rogers Company A1+ Oneida Ltd. The "A1" mark refers to the quality of the silver plate, i.e. "A1+" is the best quality for that manufacturer. Lower qualities are usually referred to as "1" or "A", "B" etc. Marked on the blade of the knives: Simeon L. and George H. Rogers Company Stainless The Simeon L. & George H. Rogers Company was founded in Hartford, CT. in 1900. It was taken over by William A. Rogers, Ltd., a Canadian firm, in 1918, which was in turn succeeded by Oneida Silversmiths in 1929.
