Make a statement in this beautiful vintage wool coat in a rich purple/magenta colour, by Simpson's. Features faux fur collar?, eye/hook/button closure, decorative flaps over pockets, martingale, and pristine deep purple acetate lining. Chamois on inner back for added insulation and warmth. No size tag. Regardless of size posted, please compare with similar fitting garment. Flat measures: Shoulders 16.5" Pit 20" Arms 23" Length 37.5" Flaw: Very good condition aside from slight discolouration on one sleeve likely due to improper storage. *Colour difficult to photograph.

thriftsteady @carcher10700 I’m nearly certain it’s not faux fur. I am terrible with identifying vintage furs. Usually I ask in vintage clothing groups on fb. They are pretty helpful. Simpsons was pretty high end - given the cost is pure wool I don’t think they would use faux fur. Could be, but I doubt it. :)

kristinakenn590 It’s definitely real fur. The faux for today is really hard to identify in photos. The faux fur in that era was not very good and quite easy to spot. It also ages badly and usually has patches that are stuck together/mottled.

carcher10700 @kristinakenn590 Very nice of you to share. I think it's fur as well, but can't bet on it. It's absolutely stunning. They sure don't make coats like these today... especially the inner linings. And, if they do... be ready to pay $$$.
