VTG WELCH MARGETSON Made in Scotland RARE Quilted Smoking Jacket UNISEX - XL

This is such a rare and beautiful find! The print is to die for! A Van "Goghesque", storm, complete with dramatic whirls and swirls against a dramatic, black, nighttime sky. Through my research, these smoking jackets date back to the 60s, I'm not certain about this particular piece though. It is definitely a GORGEOUS garment, amazingly tailored, fully quilted and accentuated by a classic black shawl collar. A gentleman's quilted smoking or house robe in a classic straight cut and belted style. Made in Scotland by Welch Margetson. Two waist pockets and a waist belt. There is no fabric information tag. I actually purchased this as a women's oversized coat ( therefore posting as Women’s) Looks fabulous and works well, even on my size 6 frame. The sleeves are slightly long, so I folded them up and it's perfect for revealing the deep golden bronze satin lining within. ( 2nd last pic ) In beautiful vintage condition with only one very minor mention - a small ( quarter sized ) spot on the lining at the lower left side. ( last pic ). This does not affect the outer fabric. I hand washed this garment but did not want to apply any spot treatment. Measurements taken with the garment laid flat: Pit to pit - 25 Length - 35 Shoulder seam to seam - 19 Sleeve length - 25
