"In this book I have endeavoured to supply a want long felt by that ever-growing number of educationists who are interested in physical training: the want, namely, of a collection of horse vaults suitable for school children, and leading up to the feats of the skilled gymnast, and necessitating the minimum of apparatus.
Although there are already several books on the market dealing with gymnastics, and horse vaulting, they all seem to me unsuitable, either by reason of their lack of good diagrams, or because of lengthy descriptions, and difficult gymnastic terminology.
