Vic Matié multi ankle strap mid-heel sandals, EU40, wide fit, EUC custom dyed

I was so stoked to wear these adorable sandals with the cross-ankle straps, I thought for sure they'd be a summer wardrobe staple. Alas, it was not to be. The length was a bit on the long side for me, but it was the extra wide width that tripped me up. I don't have narrow feet, but they were literally falling out of those skinny toe straps. I even tried using foam pads, but that still didn't work. So back they went into storage. I'm guessing these would easily fit a size 10 to 10.5 with wider feet. Insole measures 10.5" and the footbed at the toestrap measures almost 4". The Vic Matié tag inside the box makes some remarks about color variation in natural leather, and it was quite noticeable in the original dove grey nubuck (see final picture). They hadn't sold after 3 years, despite being a cute and comfortable shoe, so I decided to re-dye them this beautiful indigo color. They came out with a kind of streaky, watercolor type finish as I used suede dye, but I love the vividness of the colour as is - I was afraid if I added another coat they would look too dark. Heel height is 4", with a 1" platform, but somehow, the tapered design makes them look lower and less bulky than expected. The leather is butter-soft, and I recommend leaving the ankle straps buckled for storage.
