Vic Matié taupe nappa suede platform sandal-booties, EU40, NWT

This Vic Matié just screams modernist Skyscraper it's so architectural. Yet somehow, it's completely fabulous on the foot and elongates the legs oh so gracefully. Check out the stock photo to see what I'm talking about. Too bad I never actually got around to wearing these before my knees gave out. This pair is from the 2012 collection, although there's nothing about this design that seems dated. The almost-wedge heel feels solid without looking clunky, and the almost-suede nappa leather is a lovely shade of taupe brown that makes me think of hot chocolate. An altogether yummy bit of footwear design. Marked size EU40, they fit my size 9.5 feet perfectly - could also work for a narrower size 10 foot. The heel is a towering 5.5" with a 1.5" platform - not a beginner heel by any means, but because these shoes zip on like a snug bootie, they're very stable on the foot. Footbed length is about 10.25" Never worn except for trying on, they have developed some slight rippling in the leather cross straps while in storage, but I expect that will smooth out as soon as they are worn (it's not noticeable when the shoes are on my foot).
