This beautiful antique small locket would originally have been hung from a pocketwatch and chain as a fob to add a loved one’s lock of hair or photograph.
These days, we’ll wear and collect them how we like! (I have handled a few watch chains that have a locket, so they were not all worn by women!). This one is quite small compared to the ones worn on a book chain or collar.
There are a few small bumps but overall not too bad for age and being banged around on a chain. (Not sure how I would look after 136 years!😋)
It opens and closes well, the hinge is great and it has a silver jump ring
The body of the locket is:
13/16” by 5/8”
2.8 grams
Full Birmingham hallmarks dated to 1888, maker’s mark J.C
If it doesn’t sell, I will not be sad….I hate to part with some of my collection but I might need to make space!! 😂

@aprilh157 As do YOU!! 😍. Loving up your antique gold, turquoise curb bracelet. (Droool). What sorts of charms? Adding to a traditional bracelet? I have some not listed atm, but not a huge selection.
