Victorian Micro-mosaic Brooch in Brass

Micro-mosaic jewelry was incredibly popular in Rome from 1840-1870. However the earliest known Micro-mosaic studio existed in Rome in 1775. The earliest pieces often depicting flowers similar to this one. Made with Tesserae (small chips of glass) and cement holding them to the brass base.
