A resplendent piece, capturing a time almost 150 years ago, with its still vivid floral engraving and detailed scalloped edging. One side has no engraving. The bracelet measures 7-1/2" in circumference, weighs 29 grams and closes with a clip. Marked inside S. Bros., with symbols of lion (for British silver), anchor (for pieces made in Birminham) and a K in script, indicating 1884. The lion and the K are repeated in another place. Research suggests that the maker was either Sydenham or Sheldon, with two sets of brother jewellers active in Birmingham around the same time.
This estate piece comes with a box marked James Walker - The London Jeweller, that I believe is probably original to its sale, given its apparent age - and the bracelet shape made in the cotton batting. James Walker was apparently founded in 1823.
This heritage piece is in excellent condition, with some small spots of tarnish and one very small dent, but only on the inside. The closure still works very well.
