Vintage 100% wool nordic-style chunky knit sweater size large

Vintage late 1980s wool sweater from Ecuador. Hand knit, chunky, crewneck, features a nordic pattern in light cream/ivory wool on a light grey background. Not all sweaters from the 1980s were in acrylic with large shoulder pads. There was a Neo-hippie counterculture that followed the Greateful Dead in the 1980s. This sweater was worn by one of those people. It's thick and chunky, guaranteed to keep you warm. I thought it might be scratchy but it's actually softer than expected. I would still wear it over a merino shell or a shirt. It's made out of raw wool, so it might have plant fibres intertwined within the wool. There is pilling throughout from normal gentle use as pictured. This is normal wear for a sweater that's over 35 years old. I did go over it several times with a fabric shaver but some pills are just too tenacious or small even for my Wonderlint! Size tag is missing, measurements suggest this sweater is a large.
