This patent was registered in 1923 and around 1940 the Trapper Nelson No 3 would be out. The pack board could be used with the matching canvas bag or as a packing board by itself for odd shaped items. Condition: Packboard **** The canvas with a small tear at the handle (pictured), slightly musty and with staining and signs of wear, plenty of white cord to keep the canvas in place (and strap other goods to the pack) All metal eyelets are present and look in good shape, and it has both (bent) metal rods to keep the backpack in place. The leather straps are a little dry and stained on the ends, but look strong and fully functional. The wood section with all 4 stapled on metal end plates present.
