Vintage 1930s 1940s Long Black Fur Coat Size L

Vintage 1930s/1940s long black fur jacket. This beautiful piece is super soft and the length (hits around the knees on me at 5’6”) is so chic. It has some padding at the shoulders to maintain the shape. Fully lined in gorgeous black silk with loops sewn in so you can drape it over your shoulders - how glamorous! The label reads Patronized by Royalty. New York Fur Co Ltd. Exclusive Furriers Vancouver B.C. The New York Fur Company opened in Vancouver in 1915 and was in business until the late 1960s. They were a high-end retailer with luxury locations in Vancouver’s downtown core. Size: Not listed, fits a M/L nicely. Brand: New York Fur Co Ltd Material: I believe this is sheared muskrat although it could be sheared rabbit. It is silky and so soft to the touch. Inside is lined in silk. Condition: Excellent overall vintage condition with signs of gentle wear. There is one flaw on the bottom side where the fur has a small inch-long tear.
