Vintage 1940s Bakelite US Navy Anchor Necklace Reversible

This chunky bakelite pendant with celluloid chain is pure 1940s patriotic World War 2 Americana. The pendant is a 3" square x 3/8" thick peice of bakelite (guaranteed) with a yellow anchor on one side and blue anchor on the other. In true bakelite fashion, the yellow anchor was white and has aged to a warm yellow. Each side has 2 metal star accents. The chain is embedded into the pendant with metal hooks and is celluloid chain-link in red, white, and blue. Length is 18". It sits beautifully. The safety clasp is older but likely a replacement. No damage at all. This is a unique piece for a U.S. Navy or WW2 wartime, Victory jewelry collector.
