Vintage 1940s Beetle Plastic Beaded Necklace

This vintage beaded necklace comes to us from the 1930s to 50s (splitting the difference at 40s) and has a classic MCM barrel clasp. The beads are a matte mustard yellow tone, and are made of urea formaldehyde, better known as Beetle plastic. This was discovered through a LOT of testing, here's what I can tell you about the beads specifically. They do not react to acetone, no UV glow, no smell when heated, lightweight and opaque, matte surface, mustard colour, some cracking in the beads. For some reason, these beads also have a lot of extra little holes. I don't think it's due to being restrung, as the hole locations don't really make sense. The necklace has wear throughout. There is about 3cm of empty string, presumably from losing one or two beads. Many of the beads need to be cleaned (but I've held off because I don't know the material well). One of the beads (picture 5) has an open crack that shows the bead's inside, and the longer beads (especially the center one) have cracks just under the surface. This kind of wear is normal for this material considering its age, and the necklace can still be worn (or collected).
