Vintage 1940s English leather suitcase with key, Genuine WWII leather

real cowhide hand luggage movie TV prop, leather storage case A vintage English leather suitcase ca 1940s, the outside in a chocolate brown leather, marked to the front "Real Cowhide" and "English Make" to the lock surrounds. With 2 clasps and 2 locks, it comes with 1 original key. Both locks work well - the sliders or buttons by which it opens can turn 90 degrees, also locking the clasps in place without need for the key. Perfect for storage around the home, to use as a luggage piece, or as a movie or TV prop. This would have been the type of suitcase that war refugees would have with them to flee to the countryside from London. Condition: The outside with scuffing and damage to a rear corner as pictured, and the bottom dented inwards. It looks like someone stacked too much weight on this case, and it partially buckled under it. The handle looks good with a couple of creases on the inside, the clasps with age-related staining and some rusty spots. The inside of the case is lined in an off-white canvas, which is overall in OK condition, with staining to the corners. The bottom of the case would have have a pair of tie-down straps, which are gone with only the attachment points still visible.
