Vintage 1940s Sterling Lion Passant Brooch

This vintage brooch, by Celtic Art Industries (CAI), is made of sterling silver and has a locking c clasp closure. The brooch features a left-facing lion (lion passant) which is used in British and Scottish hallmarks (and others) to indicate that a piece is made of sterling silver (925). The lion has a fair amount of detail and a beautiful patina, though I thought this piece would be older, given the length of the pin beyond the clasp. The back is stamped "CAI" (maker), "Iona Scotland" (place of creation), and "Sterling" (metal content). The brooch is around 80s years old and as such, has general wear throughout.
