Vintage 1940s wooden desk storage box with Terrier Dog on lid, cigar storage box

A ca 1940s dovetailed wooden storage box, originally for cigars, cigarettes or playing cards and the lid decorated with a small image of a dog - a Terrier or Schnauzer perhaps? The wood is soft and fairly lightweight and the lid has been attached with cigar box hinges - which are not too smooth, but will allow the lid to stand open at an angle. It stands on 4 little feet. Condition: with marks of age and use, including scratches and dings to the soft wood. The inside of the box with staining to the base and a piece of lining material (paper) has been used to cover this. The paper smells of an old fashioned perfume.
