Vintage 1940s–1950s Porcelain Bride Doll – 7” Full Bisque Body with Movable Arms, Original Box
Lovely vintage bisque porcelain bride doll from the 1940s–1950s. She stands 7 inches tall and features a fully molded porcelain body with jointed arms, delicately hand-painted facial features, and softly blushed cheeks. Dressed in her original ivory chiffon gown and lace veil, she captures the romantic bridal style of mid-century Japan.
This doll was likely made in Japan during the postwar export era and sold as a bridal keepsake or display doll. She comes in her original box, with light age wear to her gown and veil consistent with her vintage age
Circa 1948–1955
• Her bisque porcelain construction, hand-painted facial features (large eyes, bright lips, blush cheeks), and the soft lace veil are classic hallmarks of early postwar Japanese craftsmanship.
• The “bride” theme was very popular in the 1950s — these dolls were often gifted at weddings or used in bridal shop displays.
