This is a fairly significant set in terms of design history. This teapot designed by Schonwald for Fairwood in Germany was entered in the 1957 Milan Triennali and won a Gold Metal for Design. This set includes: 3x Teacups and Saucer set 1x Teapot 1x Lidded Sugar bowl 1x Open Creamer Condition: In good vintage condition, please note that one of the cups as a big crack on it and one of the sacuer as some stains I wasn't able to remove, appears to be some sort of limestone. Otherwise very light wear on the rest of the set. Dimensions: Cups - 4" x 3 1/8" x 2 3/4" Saucers - 5 1/3" x 5 1/3" x 3/4" Teapot - 9" x 5 1/2" x 5 3/4" Sugar - 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" x 4" Creamer - 4 1/8" x 3" x 3 1/2" Background: The Milan Triennali is an international design competition that was established in 1930. It had quite an interesting and at times rocky history, particularly in the 1950s and 1960s. It was they competition to participate in, and was seen as a very significant influence on the design world. After 1968 it's significance quickly degraded due to a variety of outside influences and the changing international markets.
